Med Golf recently organised a very successful event in Costa Ballena, Cadiz, Spain.

For the second year in succession, Med Golf has organised an away trip for a group of golfers from Alcaidesa Golf Resort’s ‘Friday Club’.

The event takes place annually with the top players in the Friday Club Order of Merit taking part in a Ryder Cup style competition over 3 days with foursomes, four ball and singles matches.

This year Med Golf arranged for the competition to take place at Barcelo Costa Ballena and all participants commented on how good the hotel was. One of the Friday Club organisers, Ian McNee, said “We stayed at a Barcelo hotel last year and it was good, this one is even better and the proximity to the Costa Ballena Golf Resort made transfer to and from the golf venue really simple.”

Louis Figueras, the event winning captain, can be seen on the left in this picture with Ian McNee on the right and Paul Appleyard from Med Golf who organised the event for the Friday Club boys.

Louis, who is also Alcaidesa Club Captain, commented after the competition saying “I am so pleased at how smoothly the whole weekend has run and that the guys played the competition inn a great spirit. The deal we got for the hotel and golf was amazing and the course itself was in great condition. I also appreciated the little touches such as a goodie bag for each of us with tees, a shoe spike wrench and a few golf balls. This was just what we needed for our end of season get-away, brilliant.” He went on and explained “I fully intend to retain the cup next year and although the Friday Club captain will decide the venue, I wouldn’t be surprised if we get Med Golf to bring us back to Costa Ballena next year as it will take some beating.”

Ireland Trip May 2012
